**About us**:
School and Region Reviews (SRR) supports continuous improvement in Queensland early childhood services, state schools and education centres. It provides leadership and oversight for the program of school and regional reviews.
**About the Role**:
As Principal Research Officer, you will have the opportunity to provide conduct qualitative research and gather evidence to support school reviews and improvement. You will provide operational and strategic advice in relation to the implementation, monitoring and review of policies, programs and initiatives for the branch.
- Provide advice and strategic input to inform and influence policy development and major initiatives relating to the SRR's activities and responsibilities.
- Review the nature of the research task and adopt the most appropriate research methodology.
- Collect and analyse primary and secondary data (both qualitative and quantitative) related to the work of the unit.
- Interpret research findings and draft research outputs consistent with academic and departmental standards for both internal use and also for publication.
- Prepare major reports, Cabinet submissions, policy responses, speeches, articles and briefings for the Minister, Director-General, Deputy Directors-General, Executive Director and other senior officers.
- Seek input from stakeholders (both internal and external) and incorporate into documentation.
- Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships and strategic partnerships with stakeholders.
- Constantly review relevant academic literature to inform and support the work of the unit.
- Present research findings in a manner tailored to the audience.
