Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team as a Research Initiatives Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing strategies and providing support to increase engagement and funding success rates across various initiatives and programmatic opportunities.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in research grant administration, particularly across national and international funding agencies. They will also possess demonstrable knowledge of the current research funding environment, national policies, and funding issues relating to large-scale programmatic initiatives and contracts administration.

In addition to these skills, the successful candidate will have excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to effectively consult and negotiate with internal and external clients on a range of sensitive and confidential issues. They will also have the ability to lead and supervise staff as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Completion of a postgraduate qualification together with extensive experience in research grant administration, particularly across the larger national and international funding agencies, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience education and/or training.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the current research funding environment, national policies, and funding issues relating to large-scale programmatic initiatives and contracts administration.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to effectively consult and negotiate with internal and external clients on a range of sensitive and confidential issues.
  • Ability to lead and supervise staff as required.
