We are seeking a Data Governance Framework Specialist to play a pivotal part in advancing our institution's data-driven strategy. This role will ensure the accuracy, integrity, security, and accessibility of institutional data across domains.
The position will lead efforts to improve data quality and consistency across systems such as student information systems (SIS), HR and Identity platforms. Using tools like Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS), the Specialist will implement processes for data cataloguing, lineage tracking, metadata management, and automation-driven data quality improvement.
This role also ensures that data privacy and security policies are aligned with regulatory standards. The Specialist will champion a culture of data stewardship by designing and delivering training programs that promote governance best practices.
Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, metadata management, and master data management (MDM).
Expertise with Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS), including Data Quality, Catalog etc.
Proficiency in data profiling, lineage tracking, cataloguing, and business glossary creation.
Familiarity with data privacy regulations relevant to higher education.
Proven ability to lead cross-functional working groups and facilitate consensus among stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to interpret complex data flows and integration patterns.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially for engaging with business and IT leaders.
Experience with data visualization or reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to communicate governance insights.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement data governance strategies across the organization.
Lead the development and maintenance of data catalogs, ensuring accurate and consistent metadata.
Design and deliver training programs to promote data governance best practices.
Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and resolve data quality issues.
Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in data governance.
