Reporting to the Group Chief Technology Officer you will be an integral part of our newly established Branch Leadership Team. In this role you will lead the enterprise wide data strategy of Transport for NSW and it's agencies. You will enable the responsible use of data across Transport by building trusted data platforms, govern the enterprise wide data strategy and empower business units to access and use data.

The role will see you develop and lead the enterprise data strategy and governance at a strategic level, ensuring data is managed as a critical strategic asset throughout its lifecycle. You will set and execute data policies, standards and practices. You will leverage build operational excellence, informed decision making and exceptional customer service through leveraging data as a fundamental asset.

Some of your team's accountabilities include:

• Enterprise data strategy and policy.
• Data engineering and architecture.
• Data platform and operations.
• Enterprise data warehousing and data integration & governance.
• Artificial intelligence, machine learning and deep learning.
• Enterprise information and data management and data exchange.
• Data capability enablement.

About You

You are a qualified, experienced data professional looking for an opportunity to build and lead world class data capability within an organisation that is subject to high levels of public scrutiny:

• You bring extensive experience in data management, analytics and governance.
• You will have demonstrated experience at a high reliability organisation developing and building, leading, and governing data capability and strategy across a diverse, complex organisation.
• You are an influencer and thought leader in delivering data advice.
• You will have demonstrated experience, knowledge and understanding of how to underpin data with organisational strategy.
• You are experienced in creating, delivering and maintaining clear outcomes focused data governance frameworks across a large scale organisation.
• You will understand the balance of addressing customer requirements whilst adhering to other regulatory, policy, government and operational conditions.
• You bring strong experience managing large scale data projects and programs.
• You have strong experience reporting data security matters to Board level.
• You have the ability to articulate complex concepts and put forward compelling arguments and rationales to all levels and types of audiences.
• You are experienced in building, developing and leading high performing teams.
• You embrace a delivery mindset as the cluster continues to transform.
