**Your new company**

Join a dynamic team within the local NSW Government This team is committed to making a positive impact on our community. As a Governance Officer, you'll play a vital role in ensuring smooth operations and compliance. This is a 6-month contract position with the possibility of extension. In this role you will provide high-quality technical support to our Governance and Risk team.

**Your new role**
- Committee Coordination: Prepare reports and support the Audit Risk and Improvement Committee (ARIC).
- Governance Systems: Maintaining legislation-based systems and registers is critical to our governance framework.
- Expert Advice: Provide relevant governance and assurance advice as needed.
- Council Meetings: Help prepare for Council Meetings, including room bookings, catering, and minute-taking.
- Project Coordination: Work on specific projects under the guidance of the Manager Governance and Risk.
- Internal Audit Management: Assist in overseeing our internal audit program.

**What you'll need to succeed**
- Experience: Previous exposure to governance, risk, or audit functions.
- Attention to Detail: Precise record-keeping and report preparation skills.
- Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
- Adaptability: Thrive in a fast-paced environment.
