OverviewLocation: Sydney (Hybrid or Remote)Type: Contract (Daily Rate)Experience Level: Mid to Senior (5+ years)Our client is looking for an experienced Cloud DevOps Engineer to join a cross-functional product team focused on modernising infrastructure, improving CI/CD pipelines, and driving automation across cloud-native environments.This is a daily rate contract role with flexibility around cloud platform experience (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
You'll be supporting delivery squads to build and manage scalable, secure, and repeatable cloud infrastructure — with a strong focus on automation, observability, and release reliability.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, deploy, and manage infrastructure using Terraform or similar IaC toolsBuild, optimise, and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Cloud Build)Support containerised deployments using Kubernetes, Docker, or managed cloud services (e.g. AKS, GKE, EKS)Implement cloud-native monitoring, logging, and alerting solutionsDrive security and governance alignment across DevOps workflowsCollaborate with developers, architects, and QA to support rapid, reliable deliveryWhat We're Looking For5+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Site Reliability rolesHands-on experience with Terraform, CI/CD tooling, and at least one major cloud platform (Azure, AWS, or GCP)Solid scripting skills (e.g. Bash, Python, or PowerShell)Familiarity with cloud identity, networking, and cost optimisation best practicesStrong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in delivery teamsBonus: Experience with Kubernetes, Helm, Cloud Security, or multi-cloud environmentsNice to HaveCloud certifications (e.g. AZ-400, AWS DevOps Pro, Google PCA)Exposure to incident response, DR design, or performance tuningExperience in agile delivery environments with microservices or event-driven architecturesStart Date: ImmediateContract Length: 3–6 months (extension likely based on delivery)Location: Sydney-based project — hybrid/remote flexibility available
