The role of DevOps Platform Engineer is to design, implement, and roll out updates and improvements to the AWS platform. This involves incorporating an automation framework that aligns with existing policies, standards, and best practices. The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience with AWS networking infrastructure, including Direct Connect, Network Firewalls, Transit Gateways.

In addition to designing and implementing the automation framework, the DevOps Platform Engineer will collaborate with a range of technology stakeholders to work through a roadmap of system integrations with the public cloud platform. This requires strong knowledge of Infrastructure-As-Code, specifically Cloud Formation. The engineer will also be responsible for ensuring the platform is fit for purpose and integrates with required tooling such as SIEM, APM, SRM, ITSM etc.

To achieve this, the DevOps Platform Engineer will implement a code CI/CD delivery pipeline that provides automated deployments of systems into the landing zone. This pipeline should align with security, operational, and cloud standards. Furthermore, the engineer will work collaboratively with colleagues to identify and promote areas of improvement in processes and tooling.

A successful DevOps Platform Engineer will possess highly proficient skills in Python and other programming languages. Experience in working with Splunk or similar log analyzers is also beneficial. Strong written and oral communication skills are essential for collaboration with a range of stakeholders from application teams to senior stakeholders.
