
Business Expansion Leader

We are seeking a strategic business leader to drive growth and expansion within our defined market segment. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for identifying opportunities, developing business strategy, and leading cross-functional capture teams.
The Opportunity
This role requires a strong understanding of engineering concepts, as well as excellent communication and relationship management skills. You will work closely with stakeholders to develop networks, relationships, and create new business opportunities.
Contribute to business growth by identifying potential new business opportunities through engagement with customers and other stakeholders.
Provide subject matter expertise and advice on opportunities being addressed by the business development team.
Lead bids and proposals by coordinating inputs, providing networking and scheduling data, and producing the total proposal.
Develop campaign strategies, customer contact plans, and provide formal briefings to senior management.
Assist in the development of business strategy by providing market data and assessments of business opportunities.
Improve the company's profile by maintaining contacts with existing and potential customers.
Contribute to the achievement of small projects by acting as a project manager and providing commercial advice to line management.
Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and industry functions as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Advanced technical education and 9 or more years' related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated business development or capture experience within the defence or government markets.
The ability to develop networks, relationships, and create new business opportunities within a defined market segment.
Excellent understanding of engineering/technical concepts.
Strong knowledge of the Australian Defence Force procurement environment, processes, and procedures.
Experience leading cross-functional capture teams, working within a multi-disciplinary team, and contributing at a high level within the organisation.
