**About the opportunity**

The Head of Commercial and Property within the Retail Operations business plays a critical role in creating a sustainable future for Australia Post by ensuring we meet our community service obligations while driving commercial and profitable outcomes for Retail.

The focus will be managing the strategic investment roadmaps across Retail Property, Collection Points and Services. Responsibilities include leading end to end channel planning of network modernisation and investment aligned to the Post26 Strategy, as well as creation and implementation of customer led brand design within retail outlets. The role is also responsible for the Operational Risk & Compliance of key products within the Financial Service portfolio.

**You'll be responsible for**:

- Partner with the Retail Operations leadership team in understanding complex commercial impacts, risks and opportunities, and lead the management of channel planning activities
- Lead the end to end development of PO Boxes and Parcel Lockers that support enterprise priorities, drives EBIT growth and delivers an exceptional customer experience including pricing and partnership management
- Lead Collections Strategy including third party relationships (eg. Doddle) by collaborating across the business and developing a sustainable network which balances commercial efficiencies and customer experience
- Use data to identify risks and opportunities across the network and provide insight and visibility into drivers of commercial performance to improve financial outcomes for the Retail business
- Leads and manages Retail network planning, property leasing decisions and fit-out plans focusing on delivering a right sized retail footprint including Design and Outlet standards
- Collaborates across the business to innovate and implement New Formats for retail outlets
- Manage Workforce Due Diligence to ensure compliant operations across the retail network including AML/CTF related risk and compliance
- Financial Crime operations and risk management by ensuring compliance of AP and extended workforce team as well as protection of customers against fraud

**About you**

You are a commercially minded individual with a background in property or finance (ideally both), who excels at managing a large team. You are customer centric, a keen problem solver and have a passion for creating a physical network and systems which improve brand capability. You are a confident communicator who enjoys building strong relationships with stakeholders across the business and have an ability to turn strategy into deliverable initiatives. You're eager to get stuff done, and approach your work with enthusiasm, diligence and a can-do attitude.

- Experience in working with large complex business in a senior management role
- Ability to provide strong commercial insights and reasoning to drive key business decisions
- Proven experience in cost efficient revenue generation
- A strong ability to focus and translate insights into meaningful actions with scale
- Extensive experience mobilising programs from inception in readiness for implementation
- Proven ability to influence and negotiate outcomes that address conflicting priorities and dependencies across projects/programs
