Clinical Nurse Consultants play a pivotal role in orchestrating and facilitating patient care for individuals requiring nutritional support. This position involves delivering expert nursing consultancy, advocating for patients, educating staff and patients, conducting research, collecting data, and collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams.
The Role Overview
This Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 1 position requires a registered nurse with at least five years of full-time equivalent post-registration experience and approved post-registration qualifications relevant to the field. We are seeking a highly skilled professional who can lead our team with clinical expertise and excellent interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities
Nursing consultancy and support for Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN) and clinical consultancy for all enteral nutrition devices
Patient and carer education on nutrition management and outpatient care
Specialized clinical care, patient advocacy, staff and patient education, research, data collection, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
Requirements
Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse
Minimum five years full-time equivalent post-graduate qualification experience and/or a post-graduate qualification in the field of practice
Proven clinical leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary framework
Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills across various mediums
Recent experience and expertise in the management of TPN and enteral devices in an acute care facility
