Our opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Design Coordinator to join our Brisbane Team.

The Project Design Co-ordinator (PDC) is part of the Project Design Management Team and facilitates effective design delivery across all design disciplines to get the best outcomes for the project, and to maximise value and minimise risk. The PDC will be based in one of Mirvac's state head offices but may be required to work on multiple projects (including projects in other states) or from a project office and may be required to travel to achieve all relevant requirements of the role. The PDC's responsibilities will vary from project to project and will focus on supporting the SPDM and PDM in their day-to-day duties and which include maintaining schedules and templates related to the governance and administration of the PDM function.

The PDC will assist the PDM and/or SPDM in the following responsibilities:
Tendering & Contract Management

Manage consultant tendering process and preparation of consultant agreements and scope of services including assistance with compiling and distribution of documentation in the procurement process including the use of information and document management platforms
Ensure all stakeholders are being liaised with regarding preparation of the Start on Site (SoS) including special requirements from Mirvac Development and design responsibilities from Mirvac Construction of the trade subcontractors.

Programme

Develop, maintain and track the design programme for the project

Brief Definition

Maintain and track brief design requirements.

Cost Management

Develop the design in accordance with the approved cost plans and budgets.
Identify Value Optimisation (VO) during all phases of the project, during the early design phases.
Provide leadership to ensure all stakeholders are informed regarding the status of design and costs.
Maintain regular communication with the cost planning and construction teams to identify design progress, risks and opportunities.
Deliver the design to the approved project budgets.

HSE & DOOR

Lead and champion a safety excellence culture at business and project level.
Lead and participate in the establishment and reinforcement of the safety culture and initiatives driven from the Mirvac HSE Management Systems, including Design out our Risks (DOOR) and Safety in Design (SiD).
Manage the effective implementation and adherence to company and project safety and environmental systems and procedures.
Be pro-active and alert to avoid potential safety in design situations which occur within our business.
Overall responsibility for the implementation of the DOOR process on our projects.

Financial Management

Preparation and reporting against design and PDM budget and forecast requirements.
Ensure business and project budgets and targets are met and/or exceeded.
Ensure Company systems and processes are complied with.
Be accountable for the management and reporting of the company's processes.
Ensure any financial outcomes are accurately reported and further project profit opportunities are maximised.
Participate in setting new targets which accurately reflect risk and opportunity on the project.
Ensure all project reporting complies with Company systems and procedures.

Mirvac Integrated Model

Work collaboratively with the Development, Construction, Asset Management, Design, and Sales & Marketing, HSE ad Group teams to establish strategic contacts and maintain positive relationships that facilitate strong communication links with current and prospective projects.
Establish regular formal and informal contact with the development management team so that their needs can be understood and managed to ensure satisfaction with the delivered project.
Regular review of Project Design Management project performance with Development Management and Construction teams.

Project Delivery

Ensure delivery of projects to meet Company requirements and targets relating to time, cost, quality, HSE, and sustainability.
Ensure each project has a viable and current execution plan to deliver the design of the project.
Ensure appropriate organisational structures and staffing requirements are implemented on projects.
Ensure the project is implemented to Mirvac's expectations with regard to quality by ensuring the implementation of procedures and systems.
