Two divisions - Santos Energy Solutions and Santos Upstream Gas and Liquids - are accountable for global portfolio management and strategy.
**About the Role**
We are seeking a motivated and engaging individual adept at governance and compliance monitoring of regulatory requirements as our new Tenures Adviser as part of Santos' EAPNG Tenures team based in Brisbane. Reporting to the Manager Tenures, this role is required to:
- Deliver high quality tenure (permit) management and governance services to ensure tenures (permits) are managed in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Monitor tenure (permit) compliance obligations, and coordinate lodgements and approvals with relevant internal and external stakeholders
- Provide advice and input on matters relevant to tenure (permit) management and the development of tenure (permit) strategies
- This will be delivered in line with company values and in accordance with Santos Management System including Risk, Compliance, and Asset Life Cycle Standards
**Key Accountabilities**:
- Maintain knowledge of compliance requirements under onshore resource legislation to ensure consistent compliance despite legislative & regulatory updates and changes
- Coordinate and prepare statutory forms for lodgement with Government agencies including preparation and co-ordination of accompanying documentation
- Be a key internal interface with Government agencies to ensure efficient management of petroleum tenures (permits) with respect to legislative compliance (including coordination and monitoring and environmental and Native Title processes)
- Lead negotiations with key stakeholders to develop strategies for and to ensure compliance and efficient petroleum tenure management
- Responsible for the accuracy and integrity of tenure compliance systems to maintain tenure detail, documentation and upcoming compliance obligations including payment of prescribed fees
- Effectively represent Santos by active participation at Industry and Government forums and meetings to contribute to legislative and policy reform
**About You**
Advanced analytical skills and significant previous experience in a similar role demonstrating understanding and interpretation of resource legislation, policies and processes
- Excellent knowledge of tenures approvals and compliance regimes in the petroleum and gas industry
- Experience in and capability to work in complex commercial and large organisational structures
- Well-developed strategy and negotiation skills
- Demonstrated sound ability to successfully initiate and implement change and continuous improvement in the work environment
- Strong organisational skills
- Good clerical and communication skills
- Strong attention to Detail
- Experience in the use of Tenures Systems, such as Landfolio
