General Manager - Dairy / Cheese Making Facility (Hands-On Role) Real Dairy Australia (RDA) is an Australian-owned business with locations and manufacturing facilities throughout Australia (Queensland, NSW, Victoria), with the head office located at Greenacre.
RDA is a world-class supplier of dairy-based products, services, and solutions to the retail, foodservice, and food ingredients markets.
We are seeking a motivated and experienced General Manager to lead the operations of our small but growing dairy facility.
This is a unique opportunity for a hands-on leader who isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves, drive efficiency, and help shape the future of our business.
About the Role: As General Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the facility while also taking an active role in production, quality, and team leadership.
This position requires someone who can balance strategic decision-making with practical, on-the-floor involvement.
Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage daily site and dairy production operations to ensure efficiency and high-quality output.
Actively participate in production processes where required – this is a hands-on role.
Oversee compliance with food safety and regulatory standards.
Manage procurement, inventory, and supplier relationships.
Lead, motivate, and develop a small team to achieve operational goals.
Drive continuous improvement in production, quality, and cost efficiency.
Work closely with the owners/board on strategic growth opportunities.
About You: Previous experience in dairy or food manufacturing management (preferred).
Strong understanding of production processes, quality, and compliance standards.
Hands-on and practical, with the ability to step into operations when required.
Proven leadership skills with the ability to build a positive team culture.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and organisational skills.
Commercially minded with experience managing budgets and suppliers.
