We've transformed into one of Bondi's premier food, beverage, and lifestyle destinations, featuring 12+ craft beers on tap, exceptional bistro food, and a relaxed al fresco environment.
We cater for functions and events up to 400 people and have built a reputation as the venue that sets the standard for modern bowling clubs - attracting younger generations, families, and corporate groups alike.
The Role As General Manager, you'll work closely with and report to a progressive Board of Directors and fulfil the Secretary Manager's role within the club.
You'll oversee all operational aspects whilst balancing the needs of our members, competitive bowls functions, and our vital visitor trade - which forms our key revenue source.
As the club's licensee, you'll be responsible for maintaining our liquor license and ensuring compliance.
Key Responsibilities Financial Management: Budgeting, cash flow, financial reporting, and liaison with accounting partners Operations: Supervise FOH/BOH operations, manage inventory, ensure regulatory compliance (liquor licensing, food safety, WHS) Staff Leadership: Recruit, train, and manage permanent and casual staff including head chef, bar staff and bar managers Events & Marketing: Develop marketing strategies, oversee management of website content and social media, functions and corporate bookings, plus manage key annual events including ANZAC Day and City 2 Surf Supplier Relations: Negotiate with suppliers and promoters for liquor, food, and entertainment Community Liaison: Build relationships with local businesses, community organisations, and maintain strong connections with our neighbourhood Project Management: Lead facility improvements, renovations, and strategic initiatives Governance: Prepare board reports, ensure policy compliance, liaise with Bowls NSW and regulatory bodies About You Minimum 5 years' experience as General Manager in a multifaceted hospitality business Proven financial accountability and reporting capabilities Experience in seasonal, high-volume environments with strong F&B knowledge Excellent leadership, communication, and customer service skills Community-minded with passion for local patronage Experience working with Boards of Directors and/or Clubs NSW framework Current RSA certificate and ability to hold liquor licence as club licensee Hands-on approach with ability to work evenings and weekends where required Marketing and events experience preferred but not essential Bowling club experience preferred but not essential Seniority level Seniority level Director Employment type Employment type Full-time Job function Job function Management and Manufacturing Industries Food and Beverage Services Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at Bondi Bowling Club by 2x Get notified about new General Manager jobs in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia .
