**What you'll be doing**

As a **Community Transport Team Leader**, you will coordinate and lead STAR's efforts to deliver a safe, accessible community transport service particularly for older residents in a manner that is reflective of STAR's community Services' values of respect, dignity and empowerment.
In leading and planning STAR's approach to delivering meaningful services for older people, this position will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships and partnerships with funding bodies, government departments, local council, network, community organisations and other complementary services and programs.
**What the role involves (not limited to)**:

- Deliver an effective and efficient client centred community transport service.
- Deliver services in a way that decreases social isolation, increases wellness and community participation particularly for individuals experiencing systemic barriers to living a meaningful life in their own home.
- Identify and respond to older community member needs by refining the transport service and approach and trialling aligned service types like assisted shopping.
- Identify, respond to the needs of people living with disability including creative service design to meet the needs of the sector.
- Stay up date with the relevant aged care and NDIS policies and sector development.
- Ensure compliance with the Transport Operations (passenger transport) Acts 1994 and Transport Operations (passenger transport) Regulation 2018.
- Review and develop the service's policies and operating procedures. - Coordinate and oversee the program's effective intake, assessment, referral processes and system.
- Develop service planning, promotional and marketing strategies. - Ensure client assessment, review documentation and service outputs are properly maintained properly including accurate stored information on the CDS database.
- Maintain strong relationships and consult with relevant community groups, members and leaders in order to develop a strong understanding of older member community needs priorities and aspirations.
- Foster and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including all levels of government, community organisations, partner organisations and commercial business scoping opportunities for joint initiatives.
- Lead coordinate and support the day-to-day activities of the Community Transport Team.
- Provide supervision to Community Transport team members.
- Manage the recruitment, training and performance of volunteers.
- Maintain service delivery levels and compliance with the Aged Care Quality Standards and CHSP (Commonwealth Home Support Program) eligibility and program criteria, NDIS Quality & Safeguards.
- Ensure funding obligations are met particularly in relation to the CHSP. This includes data collection and monitoring, reporting, risk management, relationship building with funding bodies and the timely and effective delivery of services. CTF (Community Transport Fund).
- Attend staff, team and other relevant internal meetings.
- Produce weekly STAR rosters. Oversee development of daily transport schedules of pick-ups and drop offs.
- Undertake relevant training and professional development, including regular supervision.
- Advance STAR's reputation in the community, support service delivery by providing person centred care and services.
- Actively participate, contribute to your team and wider organisational initiatives.
- Other duties as required.

**Key Selection Criteria**:

- Demonstrate experience in community transport service, project management, Aged Care Services or related field.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and communicate with diverse stakeholders including government departments, community groups and organisations.
- Experience leading, inspiring and supervising teams of staff and or volunteers.
- Demonstrated experience in a role requiring complex logístical problem solving skills.
- Demonstrated intermediate computer skills, the ability to use technology and online tools for reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and within a team environment to support the provision of high quality services to clients. Assume responsibility for making decisions in accordance with clear and established Procedures and Work Instructions in a client-focused environment.
