We are seeking a seasoned and strategic hands-on Human Resource Manager to lead our HR team and support our most valuable asset; our people This is your opportunity to step into a pivotal role where you will influence workplace culture, support leaders, and make a real impact on people strategy.
Key Responsibilities
The Human Resource Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of HR practices and processes for Emerald Carrying Company and Monaro Fuel Haulage.
Lead and develop a small, high-impact team of 3 - coaching, mentoring, and building capability for today and tomorrow
Overseeing recruitment, onboarding, and retention of drivers and depot staff
Advise management on employee relations and performance management
Ensuring compliance with Fair Work, WHS, transport industry obligations and HR best practices
Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture
Identify training and development needs and coordinate learning initiative
Maintain HR records and prepare reports for senior leadership
Lead Enterprise Agreement negotiations and ensure Fair Work compliance
About You
The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, effective communicator, and proactive leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Bachelor degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. Previous experience in the Transport & Logistics Industry would be advantageous
Minimum of 5 years experience in HR, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
Strong knowledge of Australian employment law, modern awards, and compliance.
Demonstrated experience with balancing strategic influence and hands-on delivery.
High level of discretion, integrity, and resilience. The successful candidate should be a self-starter with excellent communication skills, capable of building productive relationships at all levels
Strong employee relations expertise, including leading complex matters and investigations with the ability to coach
