About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and proactive HR Officer to join our Human Resources team.
As a true generalist, you will provide support across all aspects of the employee lifecycle.
Reporting to the Chief of Staff, you will play a key role in enabling the efficiency of the HR department, with a focus on updating and maintaining company policies, drafting documentation in relation to employee matters and dealing with general enquiries to the HR Team.
This role will drive engagement initiatives and employee benefit programs while ensuring maintenance of data within the HRIS Software.
This role will also support the HRBP in managing end-to-end payroll, with the successful candidate assisting with weekly and monthly pay runs and in due course taking on the end-to-end payroll function.
This is a full-time position based at the Dandenong South, Head Office location reporting to the Chief of Staff.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, review, and update company policies and procedures to ensure they remain compliant with legislation, best practice, and organisational needs.
Ensure company policies and procedures are consistently communicated, understood, and adhered to across the organisation.
Provide high-quality administrative and operational support to the Chief of Staff and HR Business Partner.
Support and coordinate end-to-end recruitment activities, working alongside the HR & Recruitment Coordinator.
Manage and monitor the payroll inbox.
Assist with maintaining accurate and up-to-date employee records and ensuring data integrity in the HRIS (UKG) system.
Assist with onboarding and induction processes to ensure new employees have a smooth transition into the organisation.
Prepare HR-related reports, metrics, and analytics.
Manage employee engagement initiatives, surveys, and wellbeing programs.
Participate in HR projects and process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the department.
Liaise with external providers, such as recruitment agencies, training organisations, and advisory services, as required.
What We're Looking For
A true HR generalist with a minimum of 5 years' experience in the HR field.
Degree qualified in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline.
Understanding of Australian employment legislation and HR best practice.
Experience with NZ Employment legislation highly desirable but not required.
Ability to maintain a high level of organisational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to managing multiple priorities in a high demand role.
Possess intermediate - advanced skills in the Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) to prepare reports, presentations, and documentation.
Excellent interpersonal skills, strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Proactive solutions-focused mindset that thrives under pressure and in busy environments.
