**The Role**
We currently have an exciting entry-level opportunity for a Purchasing Officer to join the Purchasing Team at our Store Support Centre located in Derrimut.
The purpose of this position is to facilitate the accurate placement of orders and the timely delivery of product into the Distribution Centre's. This involves data entry and maintenance across multiple data bases, along with follow up on the shipping of purchased product.
Key responsibilities include:
- Process paperwork associated with product orders including entering orders onto the system, reviewing supplier invoices, electronic filing, monitoring correspondence, and maintaining order details/changes
- Process and maintain product range in the system
- Frequent and accurate update of reports and databases
- Analysis of stock movement and advise of anomalies
- Ongoing Monitoring of overseas and local orders and communicating with suppliers
- Liaise with Shipping agents to ensure optimum shipping times
- Monitor delivery of product into our DC's and follow through where necessary
- Liaise with DC and SSC personnel and advise of due shipments
- Process invoices and documents as appropriate
**About You**
To be successful in the role:
- Previous experience in Administration role
- Previous experience in Purchasing is preferred but not essential
- Strong computer skills are essential: especially use of Microsoft Excel spreadsheets
- Strong communication skills are essential: especially use of Microsoft Outlook
- Strong time management skills: can effectively manage and prioritize tasks
- High accuracy and attention to detail
