CENTREPIECE at Melbourne Park is seeking an experienced and driven **Operations Manager** on a **10 Month Fixed Term Contract**to lead our high-performing back-of-house operations team. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in delivering outstanding events at one of Australia's most iconic venues, located at the heart of the Melbourne Park precinct.

**About the Role**

As Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the safe, seamless, and professional execution of events within CENTREPIECE. Working alongside our Venue Manager, planning and catering teams, and key delivery partners (AV, rigging, cleaning, security, and catering), you'll oversee the pre-planning, setup, delivery, and pack-down of events - ensuring every detail is executed to the highest standard.

This leadership role champions a culture of safety, service excellence, innovation, and teamwork, contributing directly to our vision of creating exceptional event experiences - every event, every person, every time.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Lead and manage the back-of-house operations team, fostering a high-performance, values-driven culture
- Ensure all events are delivered safely and efficiently, with operational plans that meet client specifications and venue guidelines
- Oversee room setups, equipment inventory, contractor management, and venue maintenance coordination
- Collaborate closely with key stakeholders including AV, F&B, rigging, and cleaning partners
- Drive strong safety and risk compliance across all aspects of event delivery
- Ensure an exceptional experience for clients and guests through seamless venue operations

**What You'll Bring**
- Proven experience managing back-of-house operations in a large-scale event or banquet venue
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing diverse and dynamic teams
- Exceptional stakeholder and contractor management skills
- A deep understanding of event risk and safety compliance
- A proactive and calm approach to managing competing priorities under pressure
- High attention to detail and a passion for delivering outstanding guest and client experiences
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and venue management systems
- Previous experience working with external catering and AV partners
- Tertiary qualifications in event management or a related field (desired, not essential)
