**POSITION DESCRIPTION - RETAIL MANAGER**
1. **Determining product and service mix, stock levels, and service standards**
- Assess and decide on the range of fitness products (e.g., supplements, apparel, accessories) and gym services (e.g., memberships, personal training packages, group classes) to meet customer demand.
- Monitor and maintain adequate stock levels of retail items, ensuring availability without overstocking.
- Establish and maintain high service standards across gym operations, ensuring a positive member experience.
2. **Formulating and implementing purchasing and marketing policies, and setting prices**
- Develop and implement purchasing policies for retail goods, equipment, and consumables.
- Establish pricing strategies for memberships, personal training, and retail products, balancing competitiveness with profitability.
- Design and execute marketing campaigns to attract new members and retain existing ones, including digital promotions, local advertising, and community engagement.
3. **Promoting and advertising the gym's goods and services**
- Lead promotional activities for gym memberships, fitness programs, and retail products.
- Collaborate with marketing teams or external agencies to develop advertising materials and campaigns.
- Represent the gym at local events or initiatives to enhance brand visibility.
4. **Selling goods and services to customers and advising them on product use**
- Actively engage with members to promote retail items and gym services.
- Provide advice on appropriate fitness products, supplements, and training programs based on member goals.
- Support the sales team in achieving membership and product sales targets.
5. **Maintaining records of stock levels and financial transactions**
- Oversee stock management systems to track product levels, sales, and usage.
- Maintain accurate records of financial transactions, including membership fees, point-of-sale purchases, and expenses.
- Provide regular financial and operational reports to management.
6. **Undertaking budgeting for the gym**
- Prepare annual and monthly budgets for retail operations and overall gym performance.
- Monitor revenue streams and expenditure, adjusting strategies to achieve profitability.
- Identify opportunities for cost-saving and efficiency improvement.
7. **Controlling selection, training, and supervision of staff**
- Recruit, train, and supervise retail staff, fitness instructors, and front desk personnel.
- Develop staff performance standards, conduct evaluations, and provide ongoing coaching.
- Foster a customer-focused, health-oriented work culture.
8. **Ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations**
- Ensure gym operations comply with health and safety regulations, including safe use of fitness equipment and retail storage.
- Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and staff training on OHS practices.
- Implement procedures for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene across gym facilities
QUALIFICATIONS: DIPLOMA OR ADVANCED DIPLOMA OR DEGREE.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum 1+ year work experience as a Retail Manager in the Gym.
Pay: From $76,515.00 per year
