We are on the hunt for an enthusiastic and highly motivated person to join our feed team as a full time Feeding Leading Hand.

Reporting to the Feed/Mill Manager, the Feeding Leading Hand will be responsible for assisting and supporting a consistent and effective feeding regime across the feedlot.

The role involves allocation and the operation and maintenance of our feed delivery including commodity handling and plant, delivering over 260 tonne of mixed feed each day.

Family owned and operated since its inception, Stockyard breeds and feeds high quality cattle from its properties located in Northern New South Wales and at Kerwee Feedlot at Jondaryan, Queensland.

**What you'll be doing**:

- Carry out daily allocation, ensuring ration programs are delivered as set by the nutritionist
- Ensure cattle are consistently fed on time each day.
- Responsible for ensuring adequate grain is available for each day's feeding requirements.
- Conduct scheduled ration and commodity test sample collection.
- Ensure records are kept up to date including regular KPI monitoring, FY3000 feed data entry and digistar communications.
- Ensure the commodity shed and liquid handling area are clean and maintained.
- Strong focus on following and enforcing WH&S and environmental requirements.
- Ensure feed trucks are operating in a well maintained and functional capacity
- Assist the Feed/Mill Manager to plan and execute capital expenditure projects and feed delivery efficiencies.

You will be working alongside a team of 8, on a 10/4 roster.

**About You**: You will possess a positive attitude, excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be comfortable providing leadership to a feed team tasked with supplying high quality feed rations.
- Previous allocation experience will be highly regarded
- Strong time management abilities, and ability to prioritise under pressure.
- Proven experience working as part of a diverse team.
- Ability to communicate well with all levels of personnel and management.
- Knowledge of feeding, milling and heavy machinery maintenance desirable.
