An excellent opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and proactive Nursing Manager with specialist skills in the Perioperative instrument nurse field to join the dynamic workforce of nursing professionals in the position of Deputy Theatre Manager at a private hospital in Sydney. It is a pivotal position within the surgical services and is critical in coordinating the perioperative service.
**ABOUT THE ROLE**
As a Deputy Theatre Manager, you will provide advanced nursing leadership in proactively managing and coordinating clinical practice and providing human, financial and material resources.
Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
- Workforce management of instrument and circulating nurses;
- Scheduling and management of theatre lists;
- Direct supervision of Floor Coordinators, Specialised nurses (CNC, CNS), Neuro/Spinal, Cardiac and Orthopaedic Coordinators;
- Management of key performance indicators, quality projects and adherence to the NSQHSS and ACORN Standards;
- Development and review of policies;
- Deputise to the Perioperative Services Manager;
- Knowledge of WHS rules and regulations.
**REQUIREMENTS**
- Current AHPRA registration;
- Minimum 3 years at a middle management level within the perioperative services environment;
- Minimum 5 years of experience in perioperative services (instrument/circulating nurse roles);
- Proven ability to successfully lead and motivate the clinical team using positive leadership skills;
- Strong customer service skills;
- Demonstrated change management utilising excellent interpersonal skills;
- Postgraduate certificate qualification in the perioperative specialty;
- Demonstrated ability in the use of WEB PASS (patient management system);
- Proven understanding of Quality and HR systems and relevant policies and procedures
- Postgraduate qualification in health management or working towards highly desirable.

**REMUNERATION**
Salary ranges from $60.93 - $63.82 per hour, based on your years of relevant registered nursing experience.
**ABOUT THE FACILITY**
The hospital, located in Sydney's North West, is a busy high acuity facility. The Operating Theatre main complex has 16 theatres, 32 first-stage recovery bays, and 32 second-stage recliners within the day surgery centre. The specialties include General (including laparoscopic), Colorectal, Bariatric, Orthopaedic, Cardiothoracic, ENT, Plastics, Paediatric, Oral & Dental Gynaecology & Obstetrics, Ophthalmic, Gastroenterology, Neurosurgery, Urology and Vascular surgery.
