**Plastics Initiative**
Our vision is a world of no plastic waste, made possible by a thriving circular plastics economy, where safety is a priority to drive significant shifts in how plastics are produced, used, and responsibly recycled. We are contributing ways of measuring the plastics in both the environment and people and supporting policy-makers with critical data.
Develop and implement a strategy for creating policy change in the Plastics initiatives' focus areas in Australia and Asia.
- Support project work in the Asia Pacific region for the Plastics initiative, especially Indonesia
- Stay abreast of the latest legal, regulatory, policy, news, and other developments relevant to the Plastics initiative, identifying emerging trends and opportunities. Work collaboratively within and across teams to identify and act on those opportunities.
- Build and manage effective working relationships with global partners, stakeholders, collaborators, and allies for key work of the initiative, including in the corporate, government, philanthropic, and NGO sector and civil society.
- Identify opportunities to engage different stakeholder groups with a focus on legal, regulatory and policy frameworks.
- Contribute to Minderoo Foundation's global policy and advocacy relevant to the work of the Plastics initiative, including ensuring that recommendations and strategies are aligned with those being undertaken by the wider policy and advocacy team.
- Develop tailored communications appropriate for different contexts and recipients, including submissions, briefings, policy papers, educational materials, correspondence, and articles.
- Representing Minderoo Foundation at stakeholder meetings and events.
- Undertake analysis to evaluate outcomes and impact of policy work.
Location: Australia, with preference for Perth or Canberra-based
**Qualifications**:
- Deep legal and political advocacy experience, and strong experience developing and implementing strategic advocacy programs.
- Ability to build strong collaborative relationships and generate ideas as well as to work independently and as part of a dynamic team.
- Advanced analytical skills and the ability to synthesise large and complex amounts of information.
- Outstanding written skills with demonstrated capacity to explain complex information in ways that can be readily understood by government, legal and industry audiences.
