**Salary range**: $174,679 per annum (Inclusive of 13% Contract Loading) + 13% superannuation + Vehicle and Car parking

**About the role**:
This role contributes to the success of the City by **leading the Development Appraisal Group ensuring the City of Hobart complies with its statutory requirements in relation to land use and development planning**, whilst providing expert advice about development appraisal, cultural heritage, and environmental planning matters applicable to the city.

Role Accountabilities Include:

- Develop, implement, and enhance objectives in Council's Unit and Strategic Plans.
- Advise on development appraisal matters, including cultural heritage, at Planning Committee and Council meetings.
- Represent the organisation, ensuring a high and appropriate public profile.
- Promote the City as a provider of innovative, efficient, equitable, respectful, and quality services.
- Collaborate with bodies like the State Government, Local Government Association of Tasmania, Tasmanian Heritage Council, Office of the Coordinator-General, and Consumer, Building and Occupational Services on development-related issues.
- Manage the relationship with the Council's Urban Design Advisory Panel.

- Bachelor degree or higher in Urban or Regional Planning or a related field to enable Full Membership of the Planning Institute of Australia.
- Current Drivers Licence.
- Significant experience in land use, development planning and cultural heritage assessment.
- A highly experienced leader who fosters a collaborative, innovative, and agile culture. Capable of motivating, empowering, and challenging others through change to work as dynamic teams, delivering quality outcomes in a client-centric environment.
