Production Supervisor Job Description

This role involves overseeing a team of direct labor staff, reviewing their work performance, evaluating and testing procedures, and ensuring project specifications and drawings are understood.

The Production Supervisor will coordinate with engineering, purchasing, operations project engineers, quality, and project managers to guarantee project requirements are met.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Supervise the work team in planning and execution of assembly activities
  • Plan resource requirements based on backlog and forecasted workload
  • Hire, train, develop, and appraise staff effectively
  • Foster teamwork within the department
  • Address employee performance issues timely and according to company policies
  • Schedule and monitor work orders
  • Ensure projects are completed within budgeted cost and schedule while meeting quality requirements
  • Establish work unit objectives and standards
  • Maintain measurements for quality, schedule, and cost performance
  • Ensure timeliness, safety, and quality of material movement
  • Develop and implement standard work procedures to improve department productivity
Requirements:
  • 7-10 years technical experience in manufacturing/industrial setting
  • 5+ years supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Word, MS Excel
  • Ability to communicate issues and solutions with project engineers
