**The Role**

Reporting to the Group Managing Director and CEO, the primary purpose is to drive, develop, project manage and report on CLV's Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy, including ongoing business operations and future development/ construction projects in each region.
This role will ensure CLV is positioned as a leader in ESG across all its asset classes, including integration of sustainability initiatives into relevant business processes and new development/ construction projects.
In addition to leading the development of the Group's ESG strategy, you will establish relevant goals and targets for the business (and regions), standards, and determine/implement the pathway to net zero, LEED certification, community development, and well-being.
Key roles and responsibilities include:
- Drive and embed a culture of sustainability/ ESG throughout CLV and ensure employees are engaged and participate in sustainability/ ESG initiatives including but not limited to sustainable infrastructure, waste management, energy conservation, use of renewables, pollution prevention, renewable/recycled materials, employee training on sustainability and the CLV Cares programme.
- Develop, analyse, and report on portfolio carbon footprint, including determining and managing the appropriate platforms for measurement and reporting.
- Management of the GRESB (Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark) submission annually and other benchmarking platforms as required; e.g. NABERS and DJSI
- Assess the environmental, social and governance (ESG) risks and impact of potential projects, input to investment documentation and Board meetings as required.
- Lead First Nations reconciliation activities.
**About You**
You have experience in a sustainability role within the Property, Banking, Education, Government, or Energy sector and bring proven background experience developing, implementing, and managing ESG strategy and plans.
You are able to provide material ESG input to the future organic and inorganic pipelines, across design, amenity, and customer services.
You are across the use and implementation of progressive technology solutions, to create data and information to report on success of such ESG strategies and plans, including showing accretive improvements and progress against relevant benchmarks.
As someone with strong problem-solving and project management skills, you are eager to help drive and embed a culture of sustainability throughout the organisation.
You will have:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and previous experience in ESG.
- 10+ years' experience working in the Property, Banking, Education, Major Infrastructure or Energy sectors, ideally in another sustainability/ ESG role.
- Awareness of carbon reporting and accounting would be desirable.
- Excellent understanding and experience of the environmental 'pillar' within ESG, and ability to translate into effective operations/ operational initiatives.
- Evidence of delivering sustainability initiatives and engaging positively with multiple stakeholders.
- Operational knowledge of property/ asset sustainability frameworks such as GRESB, Greenstar, BREEAM, LEED and WELL.
- A current Australian drivers' license
