**About the opportunity**
This new role is to develop and enhance the Camping unit's impact on camping benefits for user groups and increase occupancies across all Y-managed camps. This position will focus on the camps' operations, overseeing 'the camp manager's professional development, reviews and support to ensure all sites provide quality programs, facilities and structures that maintain industry best practices.

You will lead, support and coach the managers who will live on-site and work with a high level of supported autonomy to maximize the potential opportunities at the Camp. It is the Camp manager's role to foster continuous improvement and ensure high-quality outcomes across all services.

The CHOO's role is to support, guide and develop continuous improvement. The role is to be a dynamic leader, inspiring your team to adopt innovative solutions in delivering excellence in service delivery, building high capacity and excellence on-site and in facility management and ensuring the outcomes are within the business cases developed across the camps.

This position also oversees key capital projects across the camps where substantial capital funds have been allocated. In addition, this role ensures processes meet compliance and budgeted forecasts across all sites. It is the intention for this role to support the camp managers and provide essential leadership that supports Y Camping to be recognized across the industry to be leaders in our delivery, asset management, maintaining high standards across OH&S and in delivering innovation and development.

The role will require a close and intimate understanding of the Sport and Recreation of Victoria (SRV) contractual obligations and commitments under the Long-Term Lease. In addition, it will ensure the Y Camping unit remains compliant across KPIs and service levels.

This is a permanent, full-time role with a salary of $149K (including superannuation).

To be successful in this role, you will be a natural problem solver, conceptual thinker, and people leader, with a values alignment to the Y, and the ability to influence discussions to result in win-win outcomes. You will have considerable experience with commercial acumen strategies and approaches to the promotion of growth, sales and operational excellence.

**Qualifications and Experience**
- Tertiary qualification in camping, tourism, leadership, marketing and other relevant industries
- Experience leading a management team across numerous sites and locations
- Demonstrated project management across key infrastructure developments
- Experience managing sites and facilities
