Overview
Case Manager - Pathways to Safety and Support - Identified Aboriginal Roles at The Benevolent Society. Role located in the New England Health District. Full-time contract until 30/06/2026. Salary $45.05ph - $48.47ph + Super + Salary Packaging (salary dependent on lived experience and qualifications). Flexible, friendly organisation with WFH and 9-day fortnight options.
Duties
You will support clients and their families to have needs met in a culturally appropriate manner, including engagement in culturally appropriate practice, protocols and community engagement.
Inform and contribute to development of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural practice within the team.
Conduct comprehensive assessments to develop, implement, and review safety and support plans that address both strengths and areas of risk using a cultural safe lens.
Coordinate a culturally safe pathway in wrap-around support by working closely with government departments, schools, health services, and community agencies to raise awareness and deliver integrated services.
Identify and respond to risks, including escalating concerns and making child protection reports where necessary.
Qualifications & Experience
Tertiary qualification in social work, psychology, human services, or a related field, or equivalent lived experience.
Experience working respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and other diverse groups.
Knowledge of issues affecting Aboriginal communities, families, and children.
Strong understanding of problematic and harmful sexual behaviours (PHSB) in children and young people, including associated risks and vulnerabilities.
Demonstrated experience supporting children, young people, and families, particularly in child protection or similar settings.
Excellent communication, assessment, and case planning skills, with a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach.
Current driver's license.

About the Role
Our Pathways to Safety and Support program provides effective intervention for children, young people and families with problematic and harmful sexual behaviours (PHSB) by linking them with targeted and coordinated supports. Using cultural knowledge and lived experience, you will work collaboratively to support team members in culturally appropriate and safe practice, through individual case consultation, group supervision, and information sharing.
