Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-level case management as a Registered Nurse within the NBMLHD Drug and Alcohol Service.
  • Administer essential treatments including methadone, buprenorphine, and Buprenorphine/Naloxone in accordance with the NSW Poisons Act (1966).
  • Collaborate with a dynamic, multidisciplinary team to plan, implement, assess, and evaluate nursing care that is safe, effective, and patient-centred.
  • Contribute to care that supports some of the most vulnerable members of the community.

What You Will Bring To The Role
  • Current Nursing Registration (Division 1) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Demonstrated experience and clinical skills in Acute Medical / Mental Health Nursing as a Registered Nurse (including completion of a new graduate RN program or equivalent experience).
  • Demonstrated awareness of Drug and Alcohol dependence issues and Opioid Treatment Programs.
  • Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team including Medical, Nursing, Allied Health, Community staff, General Practitioners, and external agencies.
  • High level of communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Capacity to identify and resolve conflict situations by managing your own emotional responses and interacting professionally.
  • Ability to work a flexible roster, day or evening shifts across all days of the week as required by unit/service needs.
  • Current Driver's Licence and willingness to travel for work.
