Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD) is a leader in public health services for the Nepean, Blue Mountains and Lithgow region.
The NBMLHD Drug and Alcohol Service provides free, non-judgemental services and treatments for drug and/or alcohol use with a harm-reduction philosophy.
Responsibilities

Deliver high-level case management as a Registered Nurse within the NBMLHD Drug and Alcohol Service.
Administer essential treatments including methadone, buprenorphine, and Buprenorphine/Naloxone in accordance with the NSW Poisons Act (1966).
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to plan, implement, assess, and evaluate nursing care that is safe, effective, and patient-centred.
Contribute to care that respects client choice and supports recovery within harm-reduction principles.

What You Will Bring To The Role

Current Nursing Registration (Division 1) with AHPRA.
Demonstrated experience and clinical skills in Acute Medical / Mental Health Nursing as a Registered Nurse, with interest in Drug and Alcohol.
Demonstrated awareness of Drug and Alcohol dependence issues and Opioid Treatment Programs.
Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team including Medical, Nursing, Allied Health, Community staff, General Practitioners, and external agencies.
High level of communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to identify and resolve conflict by managing own emotional responses in a professional manner.
Ability to work a flexible roster, day or evening shifts across all days of the week.
Current Driver's Licence and willingness to travel for work.
