**The Opportunity: Compliance Manager**
The team operates at a 'Group' level across the Pacific to ensure that we are Consistent, Effective and Visible as an Aon Service Partner to the business. We have expertise across Regulation, Internal Policy, Audit and Monitoring and Risk Management. We have team members in NSW, QLD.
Reporting to the report into the Head of Compliance, the role will be responsible for formulating and implementing the audit and assurance strategy for the Aon Group in Australia. The role will also be required to mentor and coach two direct reports. Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading the Line 2 audit and assurance function by driving the audit and assurance strategy, which includes (amongst other things):
- crafting an annual audit and assurance schedule
- crafting testing scripts for audit and assurance activities
- selecting and reviewing sample files against the testing script
- reporting on findings to relevant business stakeholders
- supervising audit remediation items to completion
- Preparing reports summarising audit and assurance findings to relevant governance committees
- Assisting and delivering training to the business with its Line 1 audit framework
- Mentoring and coaching the two audit and assurance colleagues
- Working collaboratively with the broader compliance team to uplift the compliance framework
**About you**:
- Sound experience in a similar Compliance Manager role
- Previous experience as an insurance broker or underwriter or an understanding of the insurance industry would be advantageous
- RG146 qualification is preferred (not essential)
- Ability to create testing scripts which tests compliance with key obligations
- Ability to accurately identify issues when testing sample files
- Clearly articulating audit and assurance findings to key partners and other compliance colleagues
- Ability to be forward-thinking and vary the audit and assurance plan to cater for issues identified within the business
- Ability to effectively coach and develop the audit and assurance skills of the two direct reports
- Strong communication, both written and verbal
- Strong stakeholder management
- A positive attitude and willingness to work hard
- A growth mindset - recognising and crafting opportunities
