Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage a Design, Develop and Deliver Security Training Specialist on a contract for 6 months with potential extension.

**Position Overview**

**Duties & Responsibilities**:
The specialist training officer will be required to:

- Deliver presentations and facilitate training to Agency's staff and some external agencies.
- Develop innovative, relevant, diversity enabled and culturally sensitive learning solutions for officers. They may also be required to design and develop associated training, support and instructional material for training participants.
- The training modalities that they will design and deliver should consider face to face; virtual, eLearning or blended learning options, as required and practical.
- Undertake continual analysis and review of OTS' training curricula to ensure training aligns with the Agency's objectives.
- Develop 'training strategies' and produce 'training outcome' briefs and other high-level briefs as required, for the Executive.
- Identify security training and capability gaps and (where possible) determine strategies to reduce these through a process of continual monitoring and refining of Agency's training to build and enhance security capability.
- Oversee the scheduling of security training and prioritise enrolment of course participants.
- Draw on a broad cross-section of information, review and modify security training content to ensure it addresses emerging security risks, remains current with the Agency's Security Framework, uses adult learning principles and considers and applies to our diverse staffing profile.
- Assist, as directed, with OTS's administrative management of the RSO network (including engaging regularly with the RSOs, facilitating monthly meetings, drafting newsletters, facilitating security briefings for relevant Agency staff and other government agency officers).
- As directed, liaise and collaborate with a wide range of internal and external stake holders (across the Agency and other government agencies) to understand and refine security training needs for the Agency.
- Assist with the development and management of the Diplomatic Security Officer Development Program (RSO focused training program and continuum).
- Review and refine existing processes and procedures to ensure an efficient and effective operating model both in training and our RSO network.
- Deliver innovative approaches to building capability across the network and ensuring the network can meet the demands on it into the future.
- Prepare briefing material and policy guidance to inform and guide the department and its people.
- Perform other ad-hoc duties as directed by Director or Assistant Director, OTS.

**Knowledge and Skills Required**:

- Qualification and/or demonstrated experience in training and assessment
- Strong communication skills, oral and written.
- Previous experience in Protective Security would be desirable.
- Experience or knowledge of the overseas security environment is desirable**_._**

- NV2 Australian Government clearance (mandatory).
