Role Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our Pacific Security College's Executive team as an Academic Convener.
This role will play a key part in promoting security and stability in the Pacific region through education and training programs.
About Us:
The Crawford School of Public Policy leads intellectual engagement with the Asia-Pacific region through research, teaching and contributions to public debate. The College hosts the largest number of regional experts and specialist academic programs in the English-speaking world.
We work closely with Pacific Island countries to build the capacity of officials to deal with a broad range of security challenges through executive and professional development courses, policy workshops, technical assistance and research.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaise with Pacific-based stakeholders to develop and implement education programs that meet their needs and priorities
- Design and deliver high-quality training and development courses that address the security priorities of Pacific partners
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the university and external partners to advance the goals of the Pacific Security College
Selection Criteria:
- Demonstrated expertise in security or international relations, with a strong understanding of the Pacific region and its security challenges
- Proven track record of developing and delivering effective training and development programs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders
