This hands-on role involves working with specialised equipment essential for road construction operations.You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing bitumen tankers, ensuring safe, efficient operation in compliance with standards.
If you have a strong mechanical background and enjoy a fast-paced, team environment, this could be the role for you.The Tasks AheadYour main focus will be on ensuring the safe operation of bitumen tankers used in road construction and surfacing projects.
Responsibilities include routine inspections, diagnosing faults, preventative maintenance on systems like burners, pumps, valves, and hydraulics, maintaining heating systems, welding and fabrication repairs, calibrating controls, and ensuring safety and compliance standards are met.
Work will be conducted in workshops and on-site as needed to support operations and minimise downtime.About YouMechanical and hydraulic system knowledgeExperience with burner systems and pipeworkWelding and fabrication skillsUnderstanding of hazardous materials handling (especially hot bitumen)Strong safety awareness and PPE complianceKey RequirementsRoutine maintenance of bitumen tanks and equipmentInspect and repair heating systems (diesel burners, LPG systems)Service hydraulic systems for loading/unloadingCheck insulation and tank integrityClean and flush tanksTest and calibrate gauges and sensorsPerform welding, fabrication, and repairsEnsure safety and environmental complianceThe BenefitsCompetitive salary, supportive team environment, opportunities for training and career growth.Please Note: Only applicants residing in WA with full Australian working rights will be considered.
