Help shape the future at Melbourne Airport Support the Master Airport Planning Team in this newly created role where you will showcase your administrative and stakeholder management skills.
Melbourne Airport welcomes over 33 million passengers annually, creating tens of thousands of jobs while serving as a critical gateway for Australia. As we embark on a significant expansion, including the construction of a third runway, we are searching for a motivated and proactive Approvals Manager.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Major Project Approvals, the Approvals Manager's purpose is to project manage and be the technical lead for the development and delivery of approvals for Melbourne Airport's major developments (as defined in the Airports Act 1996).
Key responsibilities:
Project manage the delivery of the EEP, MAR Major Development Plan, and all other related approvals. Manage SME contractors engaged for specific inputs to the MDP process, draft chapters where necessary.
Project manage the delivery of other airport Major Development Plans, and all other related approvals (e.g. Terminal expansion, property MDPs). Manage SME contractors engaged for specific inputs to the MDP process, draft chapters where necessary.
Effectively collaborate with internal APAM stakeholders where their input and sign off is required for the MDP documentation (ELT, SLT, Heads of, technical leads).
Effectively develop and manage MDP timelines, budgets and expenditures.
Planning SME representative for community engagement.
Delivery of approvals for multiple generational change projects concurrently means very tight deadlines on complicated projects; there will be conflicting priorities that need to be managed.
We're looking for a versatile and proactive professional who thrives in fast-paced environments. To excel in this role, you'll need:
High level report and technical writing skills.
Experience in planning and/or environmental approvals.
Stakeholder management experience.
Project management experience.
Experience with Airports Act approvals – writing and negotiating approvals.
Understanding of the Airports Act and the aviation sector in Australia.
Community engagement experience.
Advanced communication skills in terms of reporting writing, technical report development and community engagement.
Planning and approvals knowledge and experience with a desirable level of exposure and practice in Airports Act approvals.
