
Regional Engineering Director, Financial Services

Industry teams enable our sales teams and partners to deliver relevant, high-quality solutions and services to empower our commercial and public sector customers to lead the digital transformation of the financial services industry.We are seeking to add an experienced, motivated, and high-performing individual to join us as our Regional Engineering Director.
This role involves partnering with the FSI team to impact our product engineering teams, top FSI customers, account teams, marketing, communication teams, and subject matter experts.
It offers a unique opportunity to articulate complex topics in a digestible manner, reducing anxiety, raising ambition, and encouraging a bold, challenger-mindset among technical CxOs.ResponsibilitiesEngage key customers to drive industry-relevant technology conversations at a senior level, supported by engineering and industry leaders.
Capable of conducting technical workshops and deep discussions on FSI sub-domains, cloud technology/services, solution architecture, and migration/modernization.Be familiar with FSI core systems (transactions, analytics), including their limitations, dependencies, vulnerabilities, and security, as well as cloud-native architectures and migration pathways.Maintain regular communication with the FSI Team to gather insights on customer challenges, industry priority scenarios, and engineering gaps to inform product development, ensuring platforms are enriched for customers and partners.Collaborate with the FSI Partner Strategy Lead and Solutions Lead to understand partner challenges and develop new industry capabilities.Manage escalations from customers/partners to the CVP and CTO that impact product engineering, ensuring timely resolution.Support and coach account teams during customer and partner visits to the Microsoft Executive Briefing Center, involving the FSI team.This role requires a highly motivated individual with a background in sales or similar, combined with strategic thinking, executive communication skills, project management, and strong team collaboration skills.QualificationsProven technology leadership within the Financial Services industry, supporting and delivering solutions.Extensive experience selling to top-tier banks and financial institutions, with a strong understanding of sales cycles and customer engagement.Executive maturity and experience working with senior leaders.Exceptional messaging and communication skills.Strong collaboration skills across groups and stakeholders.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment, adapting plans in real-time.Confidence under pressure, especially with tight timelines.Skill in prioritization, resource management, and achieving goals.A growth mindset focused on continuous learning.Understanding of Microsoft's commercial business solutions, including customer and partner ecosystems, is valued but not required.Microsoft is an equal opportunity employer.
