Albury Area, Australia Australian Target Systems PL Full time $60,000 - $90,000 per year

About ATS

Australian Target Systems (ATS) is Australia's most experienced live fire target systems provider, with a history dating back to the 1950s. Today, we are the managing contractor for the procurement, delivery, integration, and maintenance of live fire target systems to the Australian Defence Force.

Every Australian soldier deployed on active combat operations over the past decade has trained on systems installed by ATS. This deep operational purpose, combined with a commitment to excellence and integrity, drives everything we do.

About the Role

ATS is seeking a highly organised, proactive, and adaptable Program Support Officer to join our team. This is a dynamic and evolving environment where structures and processes are still being shaped - perfect for someone who thrives on bringing clarity to complexity and enjoys contributing to meaningful outcomes.

As a key member of the program team, you'll provide critical operational and administrative support that underpins delivery, governance, and coordination. You'll help shape systems and practices while enabling others to deliver on a nationally important Defence capability.

Key Responsibilities

As a Program Support Officer, you will:

  • Coordinate program support tasks including schedule, risk, and action tracking.
  • Support the program meetings and governance forums – prepare meeting packs, take minutes, and coordinate follow-up actions.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks on documentation prior to submission.
  • Provide consistent administrative and coordination support across the program, including managing inboxes, record keeping, and correspondence tracking.
  • Communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders, escalating risks or delays where appropriate.
  • Identify and propose opportunities for continuous improvement in administrative systems, tools, and processes.
  • Maintain situational awareness of program activity by engaging with updates, operations emails, and reporting products.

About You

  • Relevant qualifications in Business Administration, Project Management or related discipline are highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated experience in a project management support role or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of project management tools and methodologies is highly regarded.
  • Clear and confident communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities autonomously in a dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality assurance, process compliance, and accurate documentation.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite and other digital tools.

Why Join Us?

You'll be part of a motivated and purpose-driven team, working on a nationally significant Defence capability. The program is outcomes-focused and places high value on collaboration, adaptability, and continuous improvement. You'll be supported to grow your knowledge and develop professionally in an environment that values contribution at all levels.

How to Apply

Please submit a current resume (maximum 3 pages) and a cover letter outlining your suitability for the role, including how your skills and experience aligns to the responsibilities and expectations outlined above.
