Human Resource Advisor (Contractor)
Location: Nerang, QLD
Employment Type: Full-time contract to 31 December 2025, with possible extension

Salary: $67 per hour, plus super

A Queensland government organisation is seeking an experienced Human Resource Advisor to support its regional operations based in Nerang. This full-time contractor role offers the opportunity to contribute to meaningful public sector outcomes across one of the fastest-growing regions in the state.

About the Role

As the Human Resource Advisor, you will deliver expert, business-focused HR support across a broad range of activities. Working as part of a collaborative HR team, you will partner with leaders and employees to implement best practice solutions across recruitment, performance management, learning and development, and organisational capability.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide advice on performance management, discipline processes and workforce planning
• Participate in performance meetings and prepare related correspondence
• Support end-to-end recruitment including advertisement, pre-employment checks, onboarding and procedural advice
• Deliver presentations and information sessions on HR initiatives to staff and leadership teams
• Conduct research and analysis of relevant legislation, directives and policies to inform HR decisions
• Contribute to initiatives that enhance leadership capability, culture, and organisational performance
• Provide advice and support on complex human resource and change management issues

About You

You will be a capable HR professional who can provide practical and strategic support across a range of workforce matters. To succeed in this role, you will have:

• A relevant qualification in Human Resources, Business, Industrial Relations or a related discipline
• Demonstrated experience providing HR advice across recruitment, performance management, and organisational capability
• Strong knowledge of contemporary HR practices, policies and relevant employment legislation
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships with stakeholders at all levels
• A proactive, solution-focused mindset and the ability to manage competing priorities
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with sound judgement and attention to detail
• A current C-class driver's licence, as some travel within the region may be required
