As we continue to evolve within a high-growth phase, the role of the Head of Food Safety, Quality Manager & Environment will provide operational leadership to drive Quality Focus across the business and in particular support operations and the customer facing business.

What You Will Do

In addition to supporting our onsite sensory process, the areas of focus for this role include:

Setting QA strategy- supporting the Technical Director in designing the Food Safety, Quality Assurance & Environment strategy to best support Beak & Johnston?s goal and purpose.

Develop Systems- maintaining the food quality management framework and associated systems;.

Implementing the Food Safety, Quality Assurance & Environment framework across Operations- leading and supporting a culture of food safety & quality within the site, by ensuring robust food safety systems, quality systems and business processes are available to permit successful achievement of quality and compliance deliverables.

Driving continuous improvement through ongoing verification- leadership and coaching, supported by expertise regarding interpretation of regulatory, food safety, quality and customer requirements, the Site Team will be empowered to make informed decisions during the manufacture and distribution of products.

The Head of Food Safety, Quality Assurance and Environment also drives the successful performance of the Site Quality team to develop food safety and quality standards in line with the Quality Standards and then monitors, verifies and manages our product and processes to ensure customer confidence.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Provide leadership of the Greenacre FSQ team.
  • Hold a Bachelor degree in relevant field (Masters in Microbiology preferred).
  • Significant experience as a Head of Quality and Food Safety & Technical Manager, with a proven track record of leadership and technical expertise- i.e. have a minimum of 5 years? experience as a Quality Assurance Manager with 2 years of that in a Head of role.
  • Strong project management skills - ability to oversee and deliver quality and compliance initiatives.
  • Deep knowledge of industry bodies, food safety regulations, QA, and technical standards.
  • Proven leadership experience - ability to coach, develop, and motivate a remote team.
  • Commercial acumen - understanding of quality?s impact on business performance.
  • High-impact communication skills - able to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Systems knowledge - Experience using platforms such as SAP, SharePoint, Food Safety Portals.
  • Be experienced in HACCP implementation, food safety systems, auditing, problem solving, risk and change management agent.
  • Have experience in high-risk food manufacturing food Manufacturing industry- experience in red meat/seafood is highly desirable.
