The Royal Bakery are looking for a Chef/Pastry Chef for our bakery located in Orion Springfield Central Shopping Centre.

We are a Portuguese inspired bakery, sharing our culture, and passion of baking. All our products are made fresh daily, with little to no keeping of leftover stock, so work can be demanding as everything is made daily for the shop front, and additional work for specific orders that are made.

Our bakery consists of a range of pastries, sweets, savouries, and an all day breakfast menu for dine in and takeaway.

-Pastries such as portuguese tarts, croissants, danishes, etc.

-freshly made portuguese inspired sourdough breads

-Berlina donuts, lemon and rice cake (Bola de arroz)

-high quality hot pies and rolls

-all day breakfast menu consisting of items such as; bacon and eggs, eggs benedict, brushetta, fresh sandwiches, etc.

-signature celebration cakes, cakes made to order and wedding/large function cakes.

applicant MUST have knowledge of Portuguese Pastries, and preferably experience having made Portuguese food and pastries. MUST have high levels of preparation and attention to detail.

the position advertised is a Full time position. Shifts may vary, so we are looking for someone who is flexible with availability to work weekdays and weekends.

We all work as a team, and jump in wherever needed. There will be opportunities to learn barista skills as well.

Our cooking and baking spaces are on display to all customers, so you must be able to work under pressure, whilst maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and enforcing hygiene regulations. We designed this space so that our customers can view the processes and hard work behind the creations. Whilst also providing a viewing platform for the chef/pastry chefs to supervise, observe and work accordingly. Our customers love being able to say "hi" and communications between staff and customers is of high value to us.

The applicant will need to contribute to the business by, preparing and cooking food ensuring quality in all stages of storage, preparation, preserving and final presentation. The applicant will monitor and enforce safe handling of food and report any issues to the Manager. The applicant will monitor and order supplies where needed. there will be opportunities for the applicant to assist in the planning and reviewing of menus, costs/pricing and adding to our "specials" menu.
