About The Role
This position is situated within MacKillop Family Services South West Emergency Care for Children (SWECC) Program. This program is responsible for providing in-home practical support and childcare services to families in crisis in locations across the South West of Western Australia.
The Family Support Worker provides home-based emergency care to children within the family and provides practical supports to families in crisis.
The Family Support Worker is a member of the MacKillop Family Services South West team, and reports to the SWECC Team Leader.
This is a Causal opportunity based in South West Region, WA within our South West Emergency Care for Children (SWECC) program. The position reports to the SWECC Team Leader.
Key Selection Criteria
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and an awareness of the current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people and their families.
- Demonstrated experience working with vulnerable and at risk families and children to address practical issues within a home, including the emergency care of children.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to participate collaboratively and constructively within teams of peers, staff and other stakeholders, as well as initiative and effective personal judgement when working alone.

- Hourly Rate of $35.67 to $41.45 as outlined in the SCHADS Award Level 2-3, dependent on qualification and experience.

You Must Have a
- Valid and current Driver's Licence;
- Satisfactory Criminal History Check (paid for by MacKillop);
- Valid Employee Working with Children Check;
- Valid and current NDIS Workers Screening Check (for risk assessed / client facing roles). MacKillop can assist successful candidates with their application.
