About the Role:

We are seeking a commercially focused General Manager – Manufacturing to join our Senior Leadership Team reporting directly to the Managing Director. This pivotal role leads our manufacturing operations, encompassing machining, welding, assembly and maintenance. Our product is designed to order, or manufactured to contract, on a high mix, low volume basis.

As a key member of the Executive team, you will shape and execute the operational strategy, driving cultural and performance transformation across the business. You will champion continuous improvement, ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and deliver efficiency, quality, and profitability outcomes that support the company's growth agenda.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end manufacturing operations, including welding, assembly, machining, and maintenance.
  • Partner with the Managing Director and SLT to align operational performance with business growth objectives.
  • Champion a proactive "Safety Culture" approach, with zero-harm leadership.
  • Mentor managers and supervisors to build leadership capability, accountability and high performance.
  • Deliver business-critical CI projects to improve productivity, reduce costs, and enhance quality.
  • Oversee CAPEX and OPEX planning and investment to maximise business return.

About YouYou are a seasoned manufacturing leader with a track record of success in metal fabrication, welding and assembly environments. Commercially astute with technical strength, you have led change programs and know how to deliver sustainable operational excellence through people, process and culture.

Your background includes:

  • Degree in Engineering (highly regarded).
  • Certified Six Sigma and proven lean implementation expertise (highly desirable).
  • Strong engagement and cultural change skills.
  • Demonstrated success in job shop, metals manufacturing leadership.
  • Strong experience in EHS and Continuous Improvement programs.
