The Opportunity

ACER is globally recognised for its educational research and impact. We're now ready to amplify that influence through a world-class business development function—and we're looking for the right leader to make it happen.

As Business Development Manager, you'll establish and lead a unified, high-performing global BD function. You'll shape strategy, implement scalable systems, and embed consistent, effective practices across our international teams in Australia, India, the UAE, the UK, and Malaysia. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, you'll play a key role in positioning ACER for sustainable growth and deeper global partnerships.

Your Mission

  • Build and lead a centralised BD function, integrating teams and standardising processes across markets
  • Implement a single CRM platform to bring visibility, rigour, and coordination to our global pipeline
  • Lead capture planning, key account management, and a structured tendering process to win more of the right work
  • Drive culture change—shifting BD from reactive and siloed to proactive, strategic, and collaborative
  • Introduce KPIs, dashboards, and performance metrics to track impact and improve decision-making
  • Empower staff with the tools, training, and leadership needed to drive long-term client growth

What You'll Bring

  • 10+ years' experience in B2B business development with a proven track record of leading transformation in complex or global organisations
  • Deep expertise in CRM systems, tender management, pipeline development, and stakeholder engagement
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change, build new systems, and drive cultural alignment across diverse teams
  • Postgraduate qualification in Business or Marketing and experience in the education or research sector are highly regarded
  • Sharp strategic thinking, high emotional intelligence, and the leadership skills to build trust and alignment across time zones
