Your Role

Are you passionate about leading high-performing technology teams and driving strategic change? We're looking for a dynamic and experienced Manager, Technical Services to lead a team of professionals responsible for delivering and managing enterprise applications and technologies. This role is pivotal in ensuring we deliver exceptional technology outcomes to our members, employers, and business.

You'll be accountable for implementing strategic technology change at a platform and application level, maximising the value of technology investments, and ensuring effective application lifecycle management.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership

  • Lead and grow a high-performing team aligned with SDLC frameworks and organisational standards.
  • Create clarity and purpose within your team, fostering psychological safety and continuous feedback.
  • Coach and develop technical capability while ensuring timely, cost-effective, and secure delivery.
  • Support capacity planning across strategic projects, BAU, and enhancements.

Application & Risk Management

  • Champion application lifecycle, risk, and quality management.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory obligations.
  • Drive incident, problem, and change management to maintain a reliable operating environment.
  • Use data-driven insights to improve operational metrics and stakeholder satisfaction.

Project Standards & Planning

  • Ensure adherence to SDLC standards across Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Manage competing demands across project and operational workstreams.
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture on platform strategies and technology lifecycle planning.

Stakeholder Management

  • Partner with business stakeholders to prioritise backlogs and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Lead funding requests and solution planning for continuous improvement initiatives.

Operational Oversight

  • Manage incident, service request, and change processes in line with ITSM standards.
  • Ensure compliance with coding standards and delivery methodologies.

Vendor Management

  • Collaborate with managed service providers to drive value and improve delivery practices.
  • Maintain strong vendor relationships and ensure smooth transitions and capability readiness.

About You

You'll bring:

  • Proven experience leading and mentoring high-performing technical teams.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile, CI/CD, ITIL, SDLC, and DevOps practices.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills across BAU, projects, and enhancements.
  • Experience managing hybrid or third-party vendor teams and outsourced services.
  • A background in IT Service Management and stakeholder engagement.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience in financial services and a background in software engineering is highly desirable.
