As the Technical Services Manager – Fleet Development you will be responsible for leading the Technical and Configuration Management functions for the Jetstar Airways Aircraft Induction (EIS), Cross AOC Transfers, Major Modifications, and Aircraft Disposal Projects (EOL). This role covers all fleet types within the Jetstar network including, but not limited to, the A320, A321, and B787. You will also manage a team of Avionics, Cabin, and Structures Technical Specialists.

As the Technical Services Manager your key responsibilities include:

  • Lead Technical Services activities for Aircraft Induction (EIS), Cross AOC Transfers, Major Modifications, and Aircraft Disposal Projects (EOL) across both Airbus and Boeing Fleet.
  • Manage fleet configuration to meet project, regulatory, business and customer requirements.
  • Manage the provision of aircraft and component repair support and approval.
  • Manage the review and approval of technical service literature received by the company from OEM's, regulators and other industry sources.
  • Work with the Projects Managers to ensure technical services tasks related to each project (aircraft EIS, EOL) are achieved within program budgets and timeline.
  • Maintain regular communications, including regular interface meetings to ensure delivery of services
  • Work with the Airbus Fleet Technical Services Manager, Maintenance Watch, Planning and AMO to ensure implementation of fleet health and operational performance consistently meets company targets
  • Identify, prioritise, and manage fleet initiatives/projects.
  • Liaise with service providers and MRO's in relation to technical matters.
  • Drive business/process improvement and initiatives across the department.
  • Provide a technical/operational advisory service to key stakeholders.
  • Manage, provide guidance, develop and support staff

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • 5 Years relevant experience in Aircraft Engineering.
  • Experience at a high-capacity passenger transport operator/s including:
  • Experience in Airworthiness Directive and Service Literature Assessment.
  • Experience in Aircraft Technical Configuration Management.
  • Experience in using compliance management platforms including TRAX.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • LAME or Professional Engineering qualification and/or tertiary qualifications in Aviation/Engineering/ Management.
  • Detailed understanding and technical knowledge of relevant aircraft and systems.
  • Sound knowledge of business management, business analysis and review techniques.
  • Excellent customer service skills – capable of identifying customer needs and resolving customer issues.
  • Proven experience in management positions and able to communicate effectively with all levels of management.
  • Understanding of aircraft systems including TRAX, AIRMAN, AIRNAV.
  • Flexibility to travel as needed in line with the demands of the role.
  • Strong stakeholder management with daily cross-functional engagement.
