The role
We're looking for a Technical Test Analyst to join our Systems Development Team. Reporting to the Test Manager, you'll work closely with project teams and stakeholders to deliver high-quality technical testing solutions that support meaningful outcomes.
The role is a 12 month fixed term contract
This role will:
- Develop test automation frameworks, automated test scripts and execution plans as per test automation strategy and standards
- Ensure that test strategies are in place for non-functional areas such as performance and load testing
- Develop project level technical testing strategies
- Develop test schedules and test estimates for technical testing efforts and promptly report any deviations to project management
- Automate API, UI and DB level verification tests
- Work with Test Manager, Architects, Project Managers, application SMEs to determine technical requirements, complexities, risks and dependencies for test automation and application performance.

You'll feel right at home if you:
- Have strong hands-on experience in test automation and building robust frameworks.
- Can design, implement, and maintain automated test suites using tools like Selenium, TestNG, and similar.
- Are confident in automating API tests using JMeter, Postman, or SoapUI.
- Understand CI/CD pipelines and have experience integrating testing frameworks into tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or Azure DevOps.
- Know how to write and manage test cases using tools such as TestRail or equivalent.
- Are analytical, detail-oriented, and skilled at root cause analysis and problem solving.
- Can manage multiple projects and adapt to shifting priorities with ease.
- Communicate clearly and effectively—both verbally and in writing.
- Hold formal IT qualifications and ISTQB Foundation accreditation (or similar).
While not essential, the following experience will help you thrive in this role and contribute even more value to the team:
- Familiarity with the Australian education sector, and an understanding of its unique systems and challenges.
- Experience in mobile application testing, ensuring seamless performance across devices.
- Exposure to penetration testing and a strong awareness of security best practices.
- Demonstrated experience in web accessibility and usability testing, using tools such as JAWS, NVDA, or similar.
- A natural ability to lead, mentor, and support junior testers, offering technical guidance and fostering a collaborative learning environment.
