What you'll be doing

As an Administrative Officer Level 5, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting the Clinical Director, consultants, and the Mental Health Executive team. This position ensures smooth operations across Blacktown Mental Health and Community Mental Health Services.

  • Coordinate meetings, manage reception, and maintain medical records
  • Provide administrative support for medico-legal reports and tribunal hearings
  • Supervise admin staff and assist with onboarding new team members
  • Ensure compliance with WHS and emergency response protocols
  • Collaborate with clinical teams to deliver efficient, consumer-focused services

  • Relevant qualifications in business, office administration (e.g. Certificate III in Business Management) and/or equivalent experience in similar office/administrative/customer service/reception management roles.

  • Excellent communication skills, including accurate spelling, good comprehension, telephone skills, confidence in the spoken word and ability to deal courteously with a range of health professionals.
  • Advanced practical skills and knowledge of with MS Office, in particular Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point and eMR with accurate word processing and minute taking skills with a particular focus on attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated advanced organisational skills including the ability to manage competing demands in a busy environment and demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and perform duties associated with the requirements of the NSW Mental Health Act 2007, Mental Health Review Tribunal and Guardianship Tribunal and other appropriate Acts and Regulations.
  • Current Drivers Licence valid within Australia (P2 Acceptable).
