Sydney CBD, New South Wales, Australia Shell Energy Full time $100,000 - $120,000 per year

The world's biggest challenge needs you, here.

Big challenges require big solutions. And the transition to a net-zero world is about as big as it gets. Working at Shell Energy - one of Australia's leading energy retailers - puts you at the heart of that endeavour.

Lead the change, from the frontline

Are you passionate about driving energy efficiency and sustainability? Shell Energy's Energy Solutions teams are dedicated to providing innovative behind-the-meter products and services to large energy-consuming customers, helping them lower energy costs, improve productivity, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

As a Project Manager - Battery Energy Storage System, your primary objective will be to define, build, and implement a robust asset management solution for both Shell Energy and customer-owned flexible distributed energy resources. Based in either our Sydney or Melbourne office, you will collaborate closely with key internal and external stakeholders to deliver clear reporting and performance metrics, ensure plant availability, and manage cases effectively, all while maximizing commercial and continuous improvement outcomes.

This is a 12-month contract opportunity. Plenty of time to take ownership, drive meaningful change and make real impact

With respect, integrity and honesty, responsibilities include:

  • Assemble and manage teams of engineers and sub-contractors to deliver assigned projects.
  • Ensure project outputs are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high technical and HSSE standard.
  • Review and provide input into key proposals to ensure they are realistic, achievable, and profitable.
  • Ensure compliance with HSSE procedures and mitigate all HSSE risks in accordance with agreed procedures.
  • Achieve a high level of client satisfaction through on-time completion and handover to the customer support team.

What you'll bring:

Here's what you'll need to thrive in this role:

  • Experience leading and managing a team, preferably within the energy, construction, or services industry.
  • Possess advanced project management skills with over five years of experience in solar PV rooftop and ground mount projects, including high voltage projects up to 5 megawatts.
  • Experience with HSSE, risk management, and contract management.
  • Understanding of energy use and energy markets in Australia.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Engineering Degree or Trade qualified A grade electrician.
  • CEC accredited for solar design of grid and off-grid systems and install.
  • CEC accreditation for Grid-connect Battery Storage design and install.

Travel may occasionally be required based on business or project needs.
