Senior Accountant

Location: Melbourne CBD | Flexible Hours for the right candidate

About Us:

268 Fund is a fast-growing Fund Management company specialising in property investments throughout Australia. We are seeking a 
Senior Accountant
 to join our team. This role is responsible for managing the financial accounts of the funds as well as the corporate entity. If you're a proactive Accountant with a knack for detail, we want to hear from you

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and reconcile fund accounts, loan statements, and investor distributions
  • Perform daily bank reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, and manage month-end and year-end reporting
  • Manage weekly cashflow requirements, forecasts and budgets for both funds
  • Assist with the preparation of regulatory requirements, including monthly CAR reports, quarterly BAS, annual FBT returns, and annual financial reports for the Group
  • Manage payroll for employees
  • Oversee invoicing, payments, and expense management, ensuring proper reconciliation and controls
  • Manage and liaise with our external accounting firm to ensure accurate and timely BAS submissions, tax compliance, profit and loss reconciliation
  • Manage external auditors for financial audits and statutory reporting
  • Support the Investment team with quarterly investor reporting, and support audit and compliance obligations
  • Provide financial analysis and support for Board and Committee reporting requirements

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA/CA/IPA membership preferred but not essential).
  • Proven experience as an Accountant in public practice, fund management, mortgage broking, financial planning or financial services/banking.
  • Strong understanding of reconciliation processes, BAS reporting, and payroll management.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Experience working with both internal teams and external firms.
  • Proficiency in Xero, excel, word and outlook
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate financial data to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Forecasting, cash flow management, tax management and budgeting skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong English language writing and speaking skills
