Senior Accountant - Business Advisory

We're seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our dynamic Business Advisory division. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified professional who thrives on delivering exceptional client service while working across diverse accounting, compliance, and advisory services.

The Role

As our Senior Accountant, you'll be at the heart of our client service delivery, preparing and completing a variety of tax returns, financial statements, and compliance obligations. You'll build strong relationships with clients while providing leadership and guidance to junior team members.

Your expertise will be valued as you contribute to consulting matters and help drive our team's success. You'll work in a supportive team environment, reporting to a Manager, and having regular exposure to our Business Advisory Directors.

As a Senior Accountant you will be responsible for:

  • Preparing and completing income tax returns for larger clients, partnerships and family trusts.
  • Managing monthly and quarterly compliance obligations including BAS and IAS
  • Preparing general and special purpose financial statements with accompanying working papers
  • Constructing cash flow statements and tax reconciliations
  • Providing tax advice and management reporting support
  • Mentoring junior team members and reviewing their work
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Contributing to business development and firm-wide initiatives

Desired Skills and Experience

As our new team member, you will have:

  • Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) or similar undergraduate degree and has completed their professional certification.
  • We would prioritise candidates who showcase experience in corporate tax and dealings with larger clients both on a technical and stakeholder management perspective (critical requirement).
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience
  • Experience with complex business structures and sophisticated client groups
  • Strong technical knowledge across income tax, CGT, FBT, GST, and other key areas
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to support junior staff members
  • Motivation and a commitment to self-development and career progression
  • A strong ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
